Oh, I am still down with this malas to update blog fever. Sebenarnya I rasa my kepala dok berserabut with many 'to do things'. Biasalah I ni, am so bad at prioritising. Next week sekolah dah nak start. Though I dah beli all school books and stationeries, I havent yet wrapped the books. Lepas tu uniform for Gebu and Bunches pun belum beli. They are the only ones who need new uniform because they had outgrown the old ones. Yang budak lagi berdua tu, macam still muat lagi dgn uniform lama. And kerja dkt rumah ni pun macam bertimbun tak habis saja. Biasalah bila sekolah cuti and all kids are home, I rasa macam kerja I terbanyak pula melayan they all.
Anyway, hari ni Australia Day. Tak salah I the British formally took possession of Australia on the 26th of January 1788.The highlight of the day is definitely the city of Perth skyworks at 8pm. From my experience last year, dari siang lagi orang dah mula kumpul ber picnic and berlepak (oh teruknya my BM) at the Swan River foreshore.
But us, we stayed home. Anak anak I dah malas nak tengok firework. They would rather stay home. I tanya juga if anybody was interested to go to the city and watch the firework. Hmmmpphh...semua tak nak...semua except for Bunches yg tergedik gedik nak ikut kawan dia naik houseboat and watch the firework from the boat right on the Swan River. Walaupun I tak bagi, she insisted to go juga, biasalah my drama queen tu. Siap bermacam macam drama tadi she put up to get her way. Last last called my darling and after my darling bagi green light baru I let her go. Huh...thats life with a teenager (and I have 3 of them)
So, sementara semua ber Australia Day di luar sana, I sibuk di dapur and made Serimuka Pelangi. But I wont call it serimuka pelangi, mine looked more like a serimuka christmas. Tak sangka bila siap, and I tengok colour my serimuka sebiji macam christmas colour. Got the recipe from Hana's blog. But hers looked so cantik kan, mine biasalah, hasil amatur, asal siap boleh makan and the kids suka.

Bahan-bahanLapisan bawah
- 2 cawan beras pulut - cuci dan rendamkan 3 jam
- 21/2 cawan santan cair
- 1 sudu teh garam
- sehelai daun pandan
- 1/2 cawan tepung gandum
- 1/2 cawan tepung kastard
- 2 cawan santan pekat
- 1 biji telur
- 3 sudu makan gula - hana buh 5 sudu
- sedikit garam
- pewarna kuning, hijau, merah (ikut suka) - I only used two colours
- Panaskan periuk kukus hingga air mendidih.
- Masukkan semua lapisan bawah dan kukus hingga masak.
- Apabila masak, kluarkan daun pandan dan tekan pulut ke dalam loyang sehingga mampat. - k.ct menggunakan plastik sebagai alas loyang supaya senang nak keluarkan.
- Bancuh semua bhn2 lapisan pelangi kecuali pewarna kemudian tapiskan.
- Bahagikan adunan kepada 3 mangkuk. Masukkan setiap mangkuk satu warna pilihan.
- Kukus semula pulut yg telah dimampatkan.
- Tuang lapisan merah dan kukus 10minit. buat lapisan seterusnya sehingga habis. - hana balut tutup pengukus ngan kain agar air tidak menitik ke atas kuih.
- Lapisan terakhir kukus lebih kurang 30minit.
- Sejukkan baru boleh dipotong.

Dekat bawah ni I nak tayang the cute containers that I got from Woolworths semalam. Geram I tengok sebab comel sangat. I plan to isi kan the containers with fruits for the kids lunch boxes bila buka sekolah nanti. Muatlah kalau nak letak grapes ke or apple slices or strawberry slices ke. Tersangatlah murah pula tu, tak sampai $1 pun each, berapa sen saja, and they came in all sorts of colours, pening I nak pilih.

lawa seri muka yang k.shaz buat. I havent been eating/buying kuih melayu dah quite a while. tak tau pesal. macam malas nak makan sebab too sweet. but bila tengok k.shaz nye seri muka, terus tergoda. kena buat ni.. one of these days :D

I ni pun bukan nya rajin buat kuih melayu pun. I think seumur hidup this is the 3rd time buat serimuka, because I am not a fan of kuih melayu. Tapi the past 1 week, 3 blogs I tengok buat serimuka ni, so I pun join in the club :)
Shaz, La'Cucur boleh tutup kalau you terus berminat buat kueh Melayu. I suka seri muka tapi tiap kali buat, I hantam aje cos I sorang yg makan pun.

Janganlah begitu, tak kan lah I boleh lawan La Cucur, tapi since you dah bagi kata kata semangat, nanti i buat kuih melayu lagi ekkk...and tayang di sini :)
