Settling down

Dah dekat 4 minggu kan I tak update my blog. I pun tak sangka that I was going to be this busy when school started beginning of the month. Suddenly saja I did not have the time to sit down and blog. You might be wondering, apa lah yg I busy sangat kan, I pun tak tahu apa yg buat I jadi teramat busy. Agaknya sebab I have 4 kids, 2 in high school and 2 in primary. All of them have different needs, requirements, activities, and there was only me alone to manage them. And I've also decided that this year I would give extra attention to their studies. Selama dua tahun that I moved here, I've never really sat down on a regular basis and keep myself informed on what they learned in school. Sebab dekat sini the schooling system macam lagi relax from what they went through in Malaysia, so I pun relax aje lah let them go at their own pace. Exam pun macam hardly ada saja.

Tapi I've decided to berazam baru tahun ni. After all Kakak is already in yr 12, her final year in school. I kena lah buka mata besar besar to make sure that she's on top of everything, no more honeymooning for her. Last year pun macam sipi sipi aje result dia. She's doing 6 subjects for her TEE this year, Math, Human Bio, Physics, Chem, Acctg and English. The first week tu she seemed to be struggling with her Physics, so I had to look for a tutor to help her. So now we had a tutor coming in once a week to help her with Physics. Subjects yg lain tu, dia kata alright lagi. Kalau accounting, I sendiri boleh tolong. Chemistry hopefully her daddy can help her there. Yg lain lain tu sendiri kena usaha. I kept telling her, at least she's not doing SPM yg ada 10 seubjects, so consider yourself lucky with only 6 subjects.

Gebu pula already in year 10, a senior at school. His math result was not that good last year, so I went to see the yr 10  head of math dept to ask for advice. Biasalah, dia kena double up his effort and I kena make sure that his effort IS doubled up. Almost tiap malam I sit down with him to help him with Math and all other subjects. So far ok, the only subject that he's struggling with now is English. I pun pening dgn English ni. Adoiii...pening kepala I tutoring him with his English. They are now learning about short stories and analysing the stories, macam kena study the plot, the structure, the characters, the climax, the language....Menggelabah I, ye lah dulu dkt Malaysia, we learned English so differently. I nak kena hantar dia pergi English tuition juga lah nampak gayanya. Another option for us is for him to do ESL. Yang tu senang sikit. I pun dulu masa buat SAM, I did ESL. But we'll see how he goes this first term.

Yang lagi dua orang tu, I pun make them sit with me malam malam and  I belikan workbook for them to practise on their English and Math. Bunches who's in year 7 now pula tengah sibuk with her assignment on winter olympic. She's got to look for points, write a draft and finally come up with the final copy on the history of winter olympics, the sports events involved, how Australia is doing in the game and entah apa lagi entah, and its due sometime next month.  Macam tu lah sibuknya my household sekarang. Not to mention my normal routine of preparing their meals, lunch boxes, and other houseworks. Dan dilupa jangan, that I also have my final CPA paper in May. Sibukkan...:))   Patutlah tak ada time nak ber blog.

Come, I'll show you what I do in the morning, or in other words, the lunch boxes yg I prepare tiap pagi. Each kid will have lebih kurang 3 container for food and 1 botol air. Yg colourful small container tu, is for their fruits. This morning they all bawa kiwi fruit and strawberries. The square container dkt bawah tu pula their sandwiches, today its tuna sandwich and thats for their lunch. I also made banana cupcake this morning for their morning break. That will go into another container, tak nampak dkt gambar bawah ni. Macam  tu lah tiap pagi, I need to figure out what they should have for lunch and morning break. The fruits pula I've decided masa I buat grocery shopping, and make sure I beli buah yg senang nak bawa and potong. Kan senang kalau I boleh letak a giant apple, tapi guarantee kalau tak berpotong, ada lah yg bawa balik after school in that same original condition.

And the rest of the photos, are just photos I took for the blog but never got the time to write an entry. So tengok aje lah gambar, the story, I sendiri pun dah tak ingat apa cerita di sebalik gambar. :)
